Keekorok Lodge

Keekorok Lodge was one of the first lodges built in the Masai Mara National Reserve; located in the very heart of Masai Land. Keekorok meaning 'motley abundance' in the local Masai language, was constructed in 1962 on a beautiful eighty acre site surrounded by permanent springs and lush grassland, where during the migration the lodge is enveloped by a mass of animals. The recently refurbished lodge offers the highest standard on luxury and comfort, yet maintaining it's rustic 40 plus years of charm, history and character.

Keekorok Lodge offers safari accommodation in 89 double rooms, 9 superior rooms and 4 suites. The double rooms comprise of stone built bungalows, single storey blocks and comfortable shaded chalets, all of which feature private bathroom facilities, mosquito nets and balconies and terraces offering views over the Masai Mara and the lush gardens. The Superior rooms have interconnecting doors making them ideal for families and the suites are considerably larger.

Keekorok Lodge Hippo Pool Bar is connected to the lodge by a 1km long wooden board walk which meanders through Keekorok Forest andr overlooks a permanent watering hole which is home to 20 Hippos and is visited regularly by Elephants and Lions.

Keekorok Lodge's restaurant serves a variety of traditional local delicacies, Asian and Western food. Guests also have the option to dine al fresco on the restaurants veranda, or for that special meal why not try the Elephant Deck overlooking the wilderness and rolling savannah and dine in complete privacy.
